England's 10-wicket loss to the West Indies was an utterly disappointing experience for anyone interested in English cricket. After a one-run victory in 17 Tests, an Ashes defeat and now with this defeat, Root's future as captain is out of his hands. Joe Root will not resign. He wants to do his best for the team. However, there comes a time when you have to stop and ask if it's in the team's best interest to continue. And it will come as no surprise when, in place of the new coach and managing director, they decide to move on with a new captain.
