Luka Doncic: 10,000-Point Club, 6th Youngest, 7th Fastest
Luka Doncic wowed everyone on Christmas night, not just with a long 3-pointer but by joining the elite group of players who scored 10,000 career points before turning 25. Imagine this: in just 358 games, he matched the legendary Bob McAdoo for the seventh-quickest to reach that milestone.
The fastest was Wilt Chamberlain at 236 games, followed by big names like Michael Jordan, Elgin Baylor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, and George Gervin. But Luka stole the spotlight, starting the game needing 11 points for 10,000 and getting there in an unbelievable seven minutes, capped off by a 34-foot 3-pointer.
Coach Jason Kidd couldn't help but admire, saying, 'He's one of the best in the world. When he's on fire, we just want to get him the ball as much as we can.'
At just 24 years and 300 days old, Luka is now the sixth-youngest player to hit 10,000 points, joining a special group with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and Tracy McGrady.
In a Christmas game to remember, Doncic scored an amazing 50 points on 15-of-25 shooting, leading the Mavericks to a 128-114 victory. This makes him the fourth player in NBA history to score over 50 on Christmas Day, alongside Bernard King, Wilt Chamberlain, and Rick Barry. What a special gift for Dallas Mavericks fans!"
