Paddy Pimblett’s knowledge of MMA
Emerging UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett, who belongs to the
lightweight division, has revealed the facts about MMA fighting that he has
picked up along the way, which he wishes he had known earlier. Pimblett is a
fighter who has carved out a remarkable reputation in the famed Octagon, with a
debut as recently far back as 2021, and still not within the top 15 fighters who
weigh 155 pounds.
Among his successes is three stoppages, which includes a
knock-out of Luigi Vendramini on his debut, and two submissions in 2022. This
year, Pimblett has also won against Kazula Vargas, and Jordan Leavitt, his
toughest opponent yet, who had to submit. So far, Pimblett’s achievements have
thus suggested that this is one ambitious fighter to watch out for.
However, by Pimblett’s own admission, his journey has
involved a steep learning curve, and wishes he had been more receptive to the advice
offered by coaches, and others that he was connected to. “The Baddy”, as
Pimblett is also known, has encouraged beginner fighters to be more attentive
to their coaches, as well as those who wish the best for them.
The young fighter was introduced to MMA when he
witnessed a fight between Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida at The Ultimate Fighter:
United Kingdom vs. United States Finale in 2009, after which he didn’t look
back. Pimblett is next set to face Jared Gordon at UFC 282, in the Las Vegas
T-Mobile Arena, where he will attempt to continue his undefeated streak at the
Octagon. It remains to be seen how high Pimblett, who has resolved to heeding
the advice of coaches and well-wishers more, can rise.
