As the 2023 IPL auction approaches, here are some of the best uncapped players to watch out for:

1) ShivamMavi: This multitalented bowler can bowl at speeds of 140 kph and can also swing the ball effectively to claim wickets. However, the 24-year-old has suffered a drop in form due to injuries, and claimed 5 wickets in 6 games, along with having an economy of 10.31 in the 2022 IPL season for the Kolkata Knight Riders. For the upcoming season he remains a lucrative bowler who has improved on several variations including the bouncer and yorker.

2) Yash Thakur: Thakur has already made a mark as a fast bowler for Vidarbha, and has been in top form, with impressive performances at the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, where he claimed 15 wickets in 10 games, with an economy rate of 7.17. Thakur is also known for his death bowling and has experience at the IPL already where he played for the Punjab Kings.

3) N Jagadeesan: The 27-year-old batter and wicketkeeper failed to create much impact at the Chennai Super Kings as Dhoni was the first choice as wicketkeeper. Known for being a safe batter, Jagadeesan has made his game more dynamic and scored 5 consecutive centuries at the Vijay Hazare trophy, and a century off 7 balls at the Ranji trophy. He has also spent a trial period at the Gujarat Titans who are currently in search of a wicketkeeper.

4) Sanvir Singh: Singh is an emerging versatile bowler-cum-batter from Punjab, who is known for his swing and accuracy. He impressed at the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy where he scored 119 runs in 3 innings, with a strike rate of 205.17, and at the Vijay Hazare trophy where he claimed 7 wickets in 5 games. Singh is also involved with league cricket in Chennai.

5) Mukesh Kumar: Kumar has gained acclaim for being a part of the Indian squad in white ball cricket, without having featured in the IPL. The 29-year-old pace bowler, who can deceive batters, played consecutive series against New Zealand and Bangladesh, where he impressed with his control. Kumar is yet to play at the IPL, which he missed out on due to Covid-19 and is looking to make a mark when he does.

6) Akash Vasisht: The all-rounder had an impressive season at Himachal Pradesh’s team at the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament, where he functioned both as a middle-order batter and a finisher. Vasisht dreams of playing for Mumbai Indians, and can tackle spin bowling, while also being an effective left-arm spin bowler.
