Football is undoubtedly the biggest sport in the world. Every year a huge amount of money is being invested into the development of football.

As much as there are the highest-paid footballers who are being astronomical figures to play for a club, there are also the highest-paid managers who manage some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Managers of football play a significant role to play in the performance of the team. They decide on the strategy and the roles of every participant in the team.

They ensure that the team is working as a whole. It motivates players to become better and improve their game daily.

Football managers may be in a highly stressful environment, but they are certainly rewarded well for their services.

Even when they're sacked, they still earn enormous amounts. In fact, Jose Mourinho has totalled more than £97 million/$115 million for all the times he has been fired during his managerial career.

The best-paid managers in the world are unsurprisingly at some of Europe’s most glamorous clubs, with the head coaches of Liverpool, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona and Real Madrid featuring at the top end.

Diego Simeone might not be at the biggest club in the world, but he earns a higher salary at Atletico Madrid than any coach at any other club.

Simeone is the longest-serving coach in Europe’s major leagues and has been well-remunerated for the transformative effect he’s had at the club since 2011.

Somewhat surprising, given the Premier League’s status as the most lucrative league in Europe, only three managers of English clubs feature in the top 12 – Man City manager Pep Guardiola (a reported €22million annual salary) and Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp (€18million) are second and third in the list respectively.

Now we will look at the best-paid active managers in world football and what they earn a year.

1) Diego Simeone – Atletico Madrid – $43.5 million

Diego Simeone is one of the most successful football managers of recent times. He has won numerous titles with Atletico Madrid, including La Liga and the UEFA Europa League. His salary of $43.5 million per year makes him the highest-paid football manager in the world.

3) Jurgen Klopp – Liverpool – $20 million

Klopp is one of the world’s best managers right now. The plan he uses during his matches is quite unique and unorthodox.

Through his plans, he paved the way for his club Liverpool to its first Premier League title in 2020 and Champions League victory in 2019.

Under his leadership, the Foxes missed out on Champions League football two years in a row only by slender margins, but things have become problematic in 2022-23 and the Foxes find themselves battling against Premier League relegation.

His salary of $15 million per year makes him the sixth-highest-paid football manager in the world.

His salary of $14.5 million per year makes him the seventh-highest-paid football manager in the world.
