Top 20 Players with MOST Centuries in International Cricket
Often regarded as the "gentleman's game," cricket is one of the most popular sports played majorly by countries that once formed the British Commonwealth.
Since 1844, when the first international cricket match (between the USA and Canada) was held, innumerable players have won matches and series for their countries - making and breaking records, hitting centuries, and being a part of the history of world cricket.
Cricket is largely considered as a batsman's game. If a player scores 100 runs in any given game, they are considered to have scored the game's century. Top-order batsmen are more likely to play more balls, which increases their likelihood of reaching a century.
In the history of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar, one of the most famous cricketers of all time, holds the record for scoring the most centuries in international cricket to date. He has amassed 100 centuries.
With 77 centuries, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli is in second place, and Australian Ricky Ponting is in third place overall for most centuries scored.
Sachin has amassed 100 centuries in his 24-year cricket career, compared to Ricky Ponting's 71 in his 17 years and Virat Kohli's 77 in his 15 years.
