Looking back at the champions of MLB 2021
Major League Baseball has had several teams that have
dominated it in the past, such as the New York Yankees through the 1940s, the
Cincinnati Reds through the 1970s, and the San Francisco Giants through the
2010s. In 2021, the championship was won by the Atlanta Braves, aided by
veteran players like striker Freddie Freeman.
Their journey to the top involved beating teams such as the
Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS, and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.
Ultimately, they faced the dynamic Houston Astros and emerged victorious to be
crowned champions for the first time since 1995, in an evenly paired series.
The Braves won by a score of 25-20 against the Astros and hit higher points
with a slim margin of 48-45, while also making 7 fielding errors compared to
the single error made by the Astros. Furthermore, the MVP of the season was won
by Jorge Soler of the Atlanta Braves, who had scored a total of 3 home runs.
In the ongoing NLDS season, the Braves are
losing against the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1. Since the Philadelphia Phillies
are a much weaker team, according to predictions they are not expected to
repeat their championship feat of last year. Freddie Freeman has also signed an
extended deal with the Dodgers and hence absent from the Braves’ squad.
The Los
Angeles Dodgers are now the team with the best record in the regular season of
the MLB, and are currently looking like the team in the top contention for the
title.
