Wout Weghorst has been signed by Hoffenheim on a season-long loan from Burnley.
German side Hoffenheim has officially confirmed the signing of Netherlands striker Wout Weghorst on a season-long loan from English Premier League outfit Burnley.
The 31-year-old, who netted 70 goals in 144 games for the Wolves, including 59 in 118 Bundesliga outings, moved to England in the 2021-22 January transfer window, but could not stop the Clarets from being relegated to the second tier.
Following an impressive loan spell with Besiktas during the first half of the following campaign, the Netherlands international was picked up on a temporary basis by Manchester United.
Weghorst played 31 times for Erik ten Hag’s side, scoring against Nottingham Forest and Real Betis in the Carabao Cup and Europa League respectively.
The forward's last game for United was the FA Cup final against Manchester City on June 3.
He also represented the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar last year, scoring a brace against eventual winners Argentina in the quarter-final.
