Dutch giants Ajax is delighted to announce the completion of signing striker Chuba Akpom from Championship club Middlesbrough for an initial fee of £10.5m.

Akpom has signed a five-year deal with the Dutch giants after Boro agreed to sell for €12.3million (£10.5m), which could rise to €14.3m (£12.2m) through add-ons.

The 27-year-old forward has yet to make an appearance this season, but he ended the previous campaign on a high note with an outstanding tally of 29 goals for Boro in all competitions. This remarkable feat saw him finish as the top scorer in the second tier.

Throughout his career, Akpom has showcased his goal-scoring abilities, netting a total of 106 goals in 309 senior matches across various clubs and leagues. 

His time at Arsenal provided him with valuable experience before embarking on loan spells at Brentford, Coventry, Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Brighton and Belgian side Sint-Truiden.

Akpom’s journey led him to Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki where he scored an impressive 29 goals in just over four seasons while also clinching both the league championship and cup double during his tenure there and returned for a loan stint following his permanent move to Middlesbrough.
