France striker Christopher Nkunku switch to Chelsea from RB Leipzig for £52m.
Premier League club, Chelsea is delighted to announce the completion of the signing of France striker Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig.
Chelsea has confirmed to pay RB Leipzig a sum of £52m for the striker.
Christopher Nkunku is the first signing made by the Blues' new manager Mauricio Pochettino who took charge in May.
The 25-year-old will join the Blues on a six-year deal on 1 July having scored 36 Bundesliga goals across the last two seasons, a form which has since earned him 10 France caps.
Nkunku came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain but struggled to get regular game time for the French giants and made the switch to Leipzig in 2019.
In the last two years, his goals return has increased dramatically, totaling 36 Bundesliga strikes across two seasons despite some injury problems and scoring in the last two German Cup finals as Leipzig secured back-to-back titles.
In the 2021-2022 season, Nkunku's exceptional performances earned him the titles of Bundesliga Player of the Season and German PFA Player of the Season. He contributed significantly to his team's success, scoring 20 goals and providing 15 assists in the league.
Recently, Nkunku showcased his abilities by scoring in the final of the German Cup, helping Leipzig secure their second consecutive title in the competition. The club finished third in the Bundesliga as well.
While Nkunku made his debut for the French national team last year, he, unfortunately, missed the World Cup campaign due to a leg injury.
