Djed Spence moved to Leeds United on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
Leeds United is delighted to announce the completion of signing Djed Spence from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan.
The full-back moves to Elland Road on a season-long loan deal, becoming the club's sixth summer arrival.
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Djed Spence will spend the 2023-24 campaign in the Championship with Leeds, who are hoping to make a swift return to the Premier League.
Spence spent the second half of last season on loan at Stade Rennais but featured just eight times in the French top flight before returning to Spurs at the end of the season.
The England under-21 international barely featured for Ange Postecoglou’s side during pre-season and will hope to revive his once-promising career at Elland Road this term.
The 23-year-old signed for Spurs last summer in a £20m deal from Middlesbrough, but failed to make an impact only making six appearances off the bench. He was then loaned out to Ligue 1 side Rennes in January.
Spence made a name for himself when he helped guide Nottingham Forest to the Premier League during a loan spell in 2021-22, but never signed permanently for the East Midlands side.
Spence becomes Leeds’ sixth signing of the summer, after Joel Piroe, Ethan Ampadu, Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Joe Rodon all joined the club.
