Manuel Ugarte confirmed his move to PSG from Sporting Lisbon for 60 million euros (£51.1m).
Paris St-Germain (PSG) is overwhelmed to announce the completion of signing Uruguay international, Manuel Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon. The transfer fee is believed to be around 60 million euros (£51.1m).
Uruguay midfielder, Manuel Ugarte agreed with the terms and has signed a five-year contract with the French champions. The newly signed contract will keep him in the club until June 2028.
Renowned clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham, and Liverpool were in the race to sign the midfielder but PSG make the move.
Manuel Ugarte made his first-team debut for his hometown club CA Fenix at the age of 15 and later moved to Portugal to play for Famalicao before being occupied by Sporting.
The 22-year-old was called up for the World Cup in Qatar last year and has eight caps for Uruguay.
The Uruguayan now joins the ranks of a flurry of signings made by PSG this summer which consists of the likes of Marco Asensio and Milan Skriniar, all of whom were brought in to further bolster the squad as they set out to conquer the Champions League this upcoming season.
He will be now managed by new head coach Luis Enrique, who takes up his first club role since leaving Barcelona in 2017.
