Ben Brereton Diaz confirmed his move to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal.
The Chile international, Ben Brereton Diaz has officially confirmed his move to Spanish La Liga side Villarreal following his contract expiry at the Championship club, Blackburn Rovers.
The Chile striker finishes his contract with Blackburn in June and will join the La Liga club as a free agent.
Diaz has been plying his trade for Blackburn Rovers permanently since 2019. He leaves the club after scoring 47 goals in 177 appearances for the Championship side.
In September 2021 he was awarded the 'Player of the Month' for scoring 6 in 5 straight matches, one of which was a hat trick.
The half-British, half-Chilean has been a key player for Blackburn in the 2021–22 season, he scored 22 goals, and in the 2022–23 season slightly less with 14 goals as Blackburn finished 7th.
He has scored 12 goals and registered four assists for Rovers in the Championship this season.
