Pablo Mari confirmed his move to AC Monza on a permanent deal from Arsenal.
Italian side AC Monza is delighted to announce the signing of defender Pablo Mari from Arsenal on a permanent basis ahead of the new season.
The defender initially joined the Gunners on loan from Flamengo in January 2020, the first signing of the Mikel Arteta era, and completed a permanent move the following summer.
An impressive six-month spell with Udinese in the second half of the 2021-22 campaign brought him to the attention of a raft of Serie A clubs and he eventually opted to join newly-promoted Monza.
He has made a total of 22 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions and has been playing in Serie A since January 2022. Last
summer, Mari joined AC Monza on loan with an obligation to buy clause inserted in that contract.
Mari could become Arsenal’s first summer sale, and the deal could net the Premier League side a reported £4.4 million. That is a minor loss over their investment, but the club are open to boosting their squad further. Mari has played 28 times for Monza this season, scoring once.
