Aberdeen Land Record Fee as Miovski Transfers to Girona.

Aberdeen have secured a club record fee for striker Bojan Miovski from La Liga team Girona.

The 25-year-old North Macedonian forward, Bojan Miovski, has made a notable move from Aberdeen to La Liga’s Girona. Over two years, Miovski scored 44 goals in 91 starts after joining from MTK Budapest.

The transfer is reported to be worth up to £6.5 million, surpassing Aberdeen's previous record of £4.2 million from Liverpool for Calvin Ramsay.

Girona, who finished third behind Real Madrid and Barcelona last season, will compete in the Champions League this year.

Miovski has completed his medical, signed a four-year contract, and will begin training with his new team on Friday.

The forward was visibly emotional, kissing the Aberdeen badge and being cheered by fans when he came on as a late substitute in last weekend's home win against St Mirren.

This transfer is the highest fee ever received by a Scottish club outside of Celtic and Rangers for an outfield player. Only Craig Gordon's £9 million move from Heart of Midlothian to Sunderland in 2007 exceeds it.

Dons chief executive Alan Burrows praised Bojan Miovski, calling him a "magnificent number nine" for Aberdeen. While the club is saddened to lose him, they are thrilled about his exciting move and grateful for his contributions.

The transfer strengthens the club’s player trading strategy, which has been a focus of Dave Cormack and the board.

Burrows added that the recruitment team and manager are actively working to bolster the squad before the end of the month.

New manager Jimmy Thelin has already signed forwards Peter Ambrose and Topi Keskinen, midfielders Ante Palaversa and Sivert Heltne Nilsen, goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov, and defenders Noah McDonnell and Gavin Molloy this summer.

Miovski began his career at 18 in North Macedonia with Bregalnica and went on to play for Rabotnicki, Makedonija, and Renueva before moving to MTK Budapest in 2020.
