Crystal Palace acquired Brazilian teenage Matheus Franca's service from Flamengo.
Crystal Palace is delighted to announce the completion of signing Brazilian teenage Matheus Franca from Flamengo for a fee believed to be £26m (£17m plus £9m in add-ons).
Brazil's youth star, Matheus Franca officially agreed with the terms and has signed a five-year deal with Crystal Palace.
Franca, who can play across the front line as well as in midfield, caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs following a breakthrough season with Flamengo.
Chelsea and Newcastle had been linked with the teenager but Palace have swooped to sign him.
Since making his Flamengo debut in December 2021, the teenage star has made 27 first-team appearances and has scored nine goals.
Franca is regarded as a huge talent in South America and would be a real coup for Palace, who have lost their talisman Zaha this summer after he rejected the offer of a new contract to join Galatasaray on a free transfer.
