Barcelona's Goalkeeping Boost: England's Roebuck Transfers from Manchester City.
Ellie Roebuck, the talented goalkeeper from England, has made a significant move to Barcelona from Manchester City. Her new contract with Barcelona will keep her with the club until June 2026.
Ellie Roebuck, aged 24, has transitioned from Manchester City to Barcelona, accumulating over 100 appearances for City and earning 11 international caps along the way.
Hailing from Sheffield, Roebuck contributed to England's Euro 2022 triumph before joining Barcelona following the expiration of her contract with City.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Roebuck shared with the Barcelona website: "I am very excited. I'd been waiting for this chance for a long time. I'm very happy to be here. You could say that now everything fits and this was the perfect time to come."
Roebuck's journey began with City in 2016, debuting on the final day of the WSL season, where City clinched the championship title.
Earlier this year, she mentioned her recovery journey after experiencing a stroke on social media.
Meanwhile, her England teammate Khiara Keating took over as City's primary goalkeeper during the 2023-24 season.
