Oxford City Stars has signed Premier League legend Petr Cech as their new goaltender.
Oxford City Stars, the pride of Oxford ice hockey, are extremely delighted to announce the signing of ex-Chelsea & Arsenal goalkeeper, Petr Cech as their new goaltender for the 2023-24 season.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper won every club honor possible with the Blues, while the Stars will be the third ice hockey side he has played for since retiring from football.
Cech, 41, made the switch to ice hockey in 2019 when he joined Guildford Phoenix. As the Phoenix’s goaltender, he has made 18 appearances for the NIHL 2 side, winning four honors with the club.
In November 2022, Cech moved to NIHL 1 side Chelsmford Chieftains where he made 12 appearances over the course of the 2022-23 season.
Throughout his career, he has boasted a save percentage of over .900.
