Calvin Bassey confirmed his move to Fulham from Ajax for £19.3m.
Fulham FC is extremely delighted to announce the completion of signing Nigeria defender Calvin Bassey from Ajax for 22.5m euros (£19.3m).
Nigeria international Calvin Bassey agreed with the terms and has committed to stay in the club until the summer of 2027, with a club option to extend by a further year.
Bassey, who has four years left on his current contract, had also attracted interest from Brighton.
He joined Ajax last summer after two years at Rangers, where he made 65 appearances in total, winning the league title in 2021 and the Scottish Cup the following year.
Since joining the Dutch side, he has made 39 appearances, scoring one goal and providing five assists.
Bassey, who came through the youth academy at Leicester City, made his Nigeria debut in March 2022 and has gone on to make made 10 appearances for his country.
Born in Italy and a Londoner by heart, Calvin Bassey started his football career at Leicester before joining Rangers in 2020.
His time at Rangers was marked by success, with a league title and a reach to the Europa League final. This successful stint was followed by a transfer to Ajax, with an initial deal of €23 million (£17.2 million).
