Manchester City Secures Laura Blindkilde Brown in Trio of Deadline Day Signings.
Manchester City has successfully secured the services of midfielder Laura Blindkilde Brown from Aston Villa.
Manchester City has signed 20-year-old midfielder Laura Blindkilde Brown from Aston Villa for a reported £200,000. She successfully underwent a medical.
Blindkilde Brown is part of a trio of deadline day signings by Gareth Taylor's team, which also includes Poppy Pritchard from Durham and Tara O'Hanlon from Peamount United. All three players have committed to a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The midfielder is viewed as a replacement for the injured Jill Roord, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury last week.
Blindkilde Brown, an England youth international, has accumulated over 50 senior appearances for Carla Ward's side and started eight of Villa's 12 Women's Super League matches this season.
Expressing her excitement about the move, Blindkilde Brown stated, "I'm really excited to be here. It's a big step in my career, and I'm eager to see what comes. Training with some of the best players in the world is a new challenge for me. The style of play here suits me, and I hope it further develops my career."
Manchester City, currently three points behind leaders Chelsea, aims to secure their first title in eight years.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa, positioned eighth in the table after a challenging start to the campaign, has suffered a setback with the long-term ankle injury of versatile England international Lucy Parker.
