Alex Moon Joins Bayonne: Northampton Saints Lock Makes Exciting Move.
At the conclusion of the current season, Northampton Saints lock, Alex Moon, will bid farewell to the club as he embarks on an exciting new chapter with Bayonne.
Alex Moon, 27, who has played 115 games for Northampton Saints since his debut in 2016 and scored three tries, will be leaving the club to join Bayonne.
The announcement of his move was made swiftly by Bayonne, leaving some disappointment among Saints supporters, according to boss Phil Dowson.
Moon, a former England Under-20 international, expressed his desire to play abroad and the timing seemed right for this transition.
Despite Northampton currently leading the Premiership and advancing to the European Champions Cup knockout stage, Moon believes it's the opportune moment to experience a new challenge in the Top14.
Phil Dowson mentioned the club's intention to retain Moon, but various factors led to this decision, including Moon's aspiration to play abroad and his current non-involvement with the England national team.
Moon, however, remains committed to finishing his time at Northampton on a positive note, aiming to overcome past setbacks, including three Premiership semi-final exits.
While Northampton has secured new contracts with several players for the next season, there is speculation about captain Lewis Ludlam potentially leaving for France, with links to a possible move to Toulon.
