Wales full-back, Liam Williams has confirmed to depart Cardiff to join Japan.
Wales and British and Irish Lions full-back Liam Williams has officially announced to join Japan next season as the financial pressures continue to bite regional Welsh rugby.
Wales' four regions are facing huge budget cuts and the uncertainty meant the national team threatened to go on strike ahead of their Six Nations clash with England.
While strike action was ultimately averted, the likes of Williams and Adams are reportedly considering leaving Cardiff, who are set to see their budget for next season drop by more than £2m.
Williams has been linked with a move to Japanese side Kobe Steelers, while Adams is said to be of interest to French club Lyon.
Williams made the switch from Scarlets to Cardiff in the summer of 2022.
The full-back arrived at the capital with a glittering CV, having toured twice with the British and Irish Lions and won both the United Rugby Championship, Gallagher Premiership, and Heineken Champions Cup.
Williams has established himself as one of the best fullbacks of his generation and is known for his counter-attacks, strong aerial ability, and aggression on both sides of the ball.
