Newcastle Falcons has signed Wales' back-rower Sam Cross from Ospreys ahead of next season.
Newcastle Falcons are delighted to announce the completion of signing Wales' back-rower Sam Cross from United Rugby Championship side Ospreys ahead of next season.
Wales international experienced flanker, Sam Cross agreed with the personal terms and has signed a two-year contract with Newcastle Falcons.
With the completion of the signing process, Newcastle Falcons have made their 14th signing ahead of the new season.
Sam Cross will arrive at Kingston Park on a two-year deal and will bring a wealth of experience having played over 50 games for the Ospreys and over 100 games on the international sevens circuit for Wales and Great Britain, winning a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Before making his Ospreys debut in 2017 against Saracens in Europe, Cross has been part of the Great Britain Sevens team which won silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Soon after his Ospreys debut, he was called into the Wales squad in 2017, making his debut against Australia before winning a second cap against Georgia in the same campaign.
Falcons head coach Alex Codling added: “Sam is a very dynamic back-rower who has played international rugby at both 7s and 15s. His explosive ability will very much suit the way we want to play, he’s a great fit for us and he can thrive in a number of positions right across the back row.”
