Chelsea Secure £54M Deal for Wolves Star Neto.
Chelsea have finalized the £54 million signing of forward Pedro Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Pedro Neto, 24, has officially joined Chelsea on a seven-year contract, keeping him at the club until 2031.
The Portuguese forward was introduced to fans at Stamford Bridge during halftime of a friendly match against Inter Milan.
Expressing his excitement, Neto said, "I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I've worked hard to reach this point in my career, and I can't wait to step onto the pitch in a Chelsea shirt."
Chelsea secured Neto’s transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers after intense negotiations.
After having two earlier bids rejected, the Blues finally struck a deal on Friday, agreeing to pay an initial £51.3 million with an additional £2.6 million in potential add-ons.
Neto, who joined Wolves from Lazio in 2019, netted 14 goals in 135 appearances during his time in the West Midlands. His transfer to Chelsea marks a record sale for Wolves, surpassing the £47 million they received from Al-Hilal for Ruben Neves in 2023.
With Neto's signing, Chelsea’s summer spending has reached approximately £185 million. The club has already brought in several new players, including midfielders Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, and Omari Kellyman; goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen; defenders Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino, and Caleb Wiley; winger Estevao Willian; and striker Marc Guiu.
Chelsea is also aiming to secure Atletico Madrid forward Samu Omorodion and Genk goalkeeper Mike Penders in the coming days.
