Giovanni Reyna Joins Nottingham Forest: Borussia Dortmund Midfielder Secures Loan Move.
Nottingham Forest have secured the services of Giovanni Reyna, a midfielder from the United States, on a loan deal from Borussia Dortmund that extends until the conclusion of the current season.
Giovanni Reyna, a 21-year-old midfielder from the United States with 24 international caps, is joining Nottingham Forest on loan from Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season. He became well-known as a talented teenager at Dortmund, making his Bundesliga debut at just 17 years old. This season, he has started only once in the league.
Dortmund has extended Reyna's contract until June 2026, but there is no option for Forest to make the loan permanent. Reyna, the son of former U.S. midfielder Claudio, was born in Sunderland while his father played there from 2001 to 2003.
Reyna was part of the U.S. World Cup squad in Qatar in 2022 but didn't play due to a dispute between his family and coach Gregg Berhalter.
