Nigeria star Cyriel Dessers confirmed his move to Rangers from Cremonese.
Rangers FC is delighted to announce the completion of signing Nigeria star Cyriel Dessers from US Cremonese for an undisclosed fee.
The Belgium-born 28-year-old, Cyriel Dessers agreed with the terms and has signed a four-year deal with the Rangers for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
Dessers joins the club ahead of the 2023-24 season, becoming Michael Beale’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window.
Dessers’ arrival adds to the recent signings of Abdallah Sima, Sam Lammers, Jack Butland, Dujon Sterling, and Kieran Dowell, as Rangers ambitiously strive to reclaim the top spot in the Scottish Premiership, currently occupied by Celtic.
The experienced Belgian-born forward spent last season in Serie A. Dessers has also spent a number of years in the Belgian Pro-League with OH Leuven, Lokeren and Genk, while also experiencing Dutch football with Utrecht, Heracles Almelo, and Feyenoord.
The 28-year-old forward has also earned four caps for the Nigerian national team.
While at Feyenoord in 2021-22, Dessers was named UEFA Europa Conference League top goalscorer, with 10 goals, earning himself a place in the competition’s team of the season. A Nigerian international, Dessers has been capped four times for the Super Eagles.
