Premier League newcomers Luton Town have officially announced the completion of signing Danish defender Mads Andersen from Barnsley.

The 25-year-old started out at Brondby in his home country, before a loan move to Koge where he made his senior debut, then joining FC Horsens in 2017, playing 32 times and scoring five goals.

Andersen, who captained Barnsley to the League One play-off final last season, joined the club in 2019 from AC Horsens in Denmark.

The Danish central defender spent four years at Oakwell and made 175 appearances for the Tykes.

Andersen becomes Luton's second signing since promotion to the top flight following the arrival of Republic of Ireland striker Chiedozie Ogbene from Rotherham.
