Swiss star Granit Xhaka confirmed to join Bayer Leverkusen from Arsenal for £21.4m.
Arsenal has officially confirmed the departure of the Swiss international, Granit Xhaka who will join Bayer Leverkusen for £21.4m.
German side Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed to pay an initial fee of £21.4m to the Gunners for the Swiss star.
Xhaka has signed a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen and is looking forward to a return to the Bundesliga having spent four seasons with Borussia Monchengladbach earlier in his career.
Xhaka, who joined the Gunners in 2016 and was briefly captain in 2019, had a year left on his contract but was expected to leave the club this summer.
Xhaka scored 23 goals in 297 appearances for the Gunners, helping them win the FA Cup twice and finish runners-up in the Premier League last season.
He scored twice during the final game of the season, a 5-0 home win against the Wolves before being given a standing ovation as he was substituted late on.
