Ona Batlle has confirmed to switch to European champions Barcelona.
European champions Barcelona officially announced the signing of Spain international Ona Batlle on a free transfer from Manchester United.
Batlle, 24, has agreed on a three-year deal with Barca with her contract with United due to expire at the end of June. She returns to the club where she previously spent six years before leaving in 2017.
Batlle becomes Barca's first signing of the summer and will find a very different team to the one she left six years ago.
The Spaniard, widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in the women's game, becomes the second big name to leave United.
Batlle has been capped 28 times by Spain and played a key role in her teams' title charge. She was also nominated for the Barclays WSL Player of the Season award at the end of the campaign.
She joined United in 2020, making 77 appearances across three years with the Women's Super League side and helping them qualify for next season's Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
The departure of Ona Batlle marks a double blow for Manchester United, who confirmed the similar departure of star forward Alessia Russo last week. The England striker is expected to join Arsenal on a free transfer.
