Brighton confirmed to sign Mahmoud Dahoud from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer.
Brighton and Hove Albion have officially announced to sign German international Mahmoud Dahoud on a free transfer when his present contract expires at Borussia Dortmund.
Dahoud’s Dortmund contract expires at the end of this season and the 27-year-old has signed a four-year deal with Brighton until the summer of 2027.
After six seasons with the Black and Yellows, Dahoud is set for a new challenge in the English Premier League.
A number of clubs were interested in signing Dahoud after Sebastian Kehl revealed in February that his expiring contract will not be extended. But Brighton & Hove Albion have won the race for his signature.
The 27-year-old is expected to replace Alexis Mac Allister in the Brighton squad following his move to Liverpool.
Mahmoud Dahoud joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2017 amid high expectations.
Dahoud made a total of 141 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring five goals and assisting a further 17.
