Monaco FC has signed Folarin Balogun from Arsenal for a fee of £35m.
Monaco FC is delighted to announce the completion of signing United States forward Balogun from Premier League side Arsenal for a fee of £35m.
The tricky striker, Folarin Balogun agreed with the personal terms and has signed a five-year deal with Monaco FC.
The move sees the 22-year-old return to France's Ligue 1 following a successful loan spell with Reims last season.
Balogun scored 22 goals in 37 league games for Reims.
The striker joined Arsenal aged 10 but leaves with just 10 senior appearances to his name and two in the Premier League.
He spent the second half of the 2021-22 season on loan at Middlesbrough in the Championship, scoring three goals.
He earned his first United States cap in June 2023 in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals, before scoring his first goal in a 2-0 win over Mexico in the final.
Balogun is likely to make his Monaco debut in a home game against Lens on Saturday.
Monaco finished sixth in Ligue 1 last season, narrowly missing out on a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League.
