Chelsea, the current leaders in the Women's Super League, just made a big move by signing Mayra Ramirez from Levante. The club set a new record with the transfer fee for the Colombian striker.

Ramirez, the 24-year-old Colombian international, has been in top form with six goals in seven games for Levante this season. She was in attendance at Stamford Bridge to witness Chelsea's Champions League win over Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Her signing is a response to the absence of star striker Sam Kerr, who is out for the season due to an ACL injury.

Additionally, Chelsea's forward Catarina Macario is recovering from a similar injury sustained in 2022.

Expressing her excitement, Ramirez said, "I am very honored to be a part of Chelsea. Being a part of such a big club is a dream come true, one I've had since I was a little girl."

Currently leading the Women's Super League by three points over Arsenal, Chelsea also secured their place at the top of their Champions League group earlier this week.
