Borussia Dortmund has finalized the transfer of Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross for an undisclosed amount.

Pascal Gross has left Brighton after seven years to join his boyhood club, Borussia Dortmund. The 33-year-old German midfielder, Brighton’s all-time top Premier League scorer with 30 goals, made 261 appearances, scoring 32 goals and providing 52 assists.

Brighton wanted to keep Gross, but he was eager to return to Dortmund. Brighton's manager, Fabian Hurzeler, expressed regret over losing Gross but understood his desire to join a top German club.

Hurzeler also noted his disappointment at not working with Gross.

Gross was Brighton's first signing after their Premier League promotion in 2017 and scored their first top-flight goal in 34 years during a win against West Brom.
