Arsenal completed a £65m deal with Chelsea for Kai Havertz.
The Gunners (Arsenal) are delighted to announce the completion of signing Germany forward Kai Havertz from Chelsea.
Arsenal has committed to pay an initial amount of £62m for the German international with a further £3m in add-ons to Chelsea.
The German international, Kai Havertz agreed with the terms and has signed a five-year deal with the Gunners. The newly signed contract will keep him in the club until 2028.
Arsenal has long been an admirer of Havertz and first scouted him even before he made his Bundesliga debut for Bayer Leverkusen aged 17.
Since joining Chelsea from Leverkusen three years ago in a deal worth up to £90million ($113.8m), he has made 139 appearances for the club, scoring 32 goals and providing 15 assists.
Havertz has scored 19 goals in 91 Premier League appearances and hit the winner in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.
The high point of Havertz’s Chelsea career is undeniably his match-winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City which delivered the second European Cup in the team’s history.
