West Ham Secure Wolves' Kilman in £40 Million Transfer Deal.
West Ham has finalized the acquisition of Wolves captain Max Kilman for £40 million, securing him on a seven-year contract.
Max Kilman reunites with Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui, who previously appointed him captain during their time together at Molineux.
West Ham initially faced rejection with their £25 million bid, but an improved offer was accepted by Wolves for the defender they acquired from Maidenhead for a mere £40,000 in 2018.
As part of the deal, the National League side is set to receive a 10% sell-on fee amounting to £4 million.
Max Kilman, 27, expressed his excitement about joining West Ham United, saying, "It’s an amazing feeling to be a West Ham United player. As soon as I heard about the club's interest, I knew it was an opportunity I wanted to pursue. I'm absolutely delighted to be here."
Reflecting on his previous experience with manager Julen Lopetegui at Wolves, Kilman added, "I really enjoyed working with Julen during his time at Wolves. He’s a top-class coach, and I learned a lot from him. I'm confident I'll continue to improve under his management here."
Kilman, who made 151 appearances for Wolves and scored three goals since his debut in May 2019, joins West Ham alongside goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme as new summer signings at the London Stadium.
