Naby Sarr is all set to join Qatari side Al-Markhiya from Reading.
Reading defender Naby Sarr has departed the Berkshire side and has officially confirmed to join the Qatari side Al-Markhiya.
Naby Sarr joined Reading last summer on a long-term deal after leaving Huddersfield Town at the expiration of his contract.
However, after just one season in Berkshire, Sarr’s spell with the club ends after making 24 Championship appearances as the Royals were relegated from the Championship in the 2022/23 campaign.
The Frenchman made over 60 appearances for the Terriers during his two-year stay at the John Smith's Stadium, scoring seven goals.
His final Reading outing came against Town on the final day of the regular season. He was yellow carded as the Terriers recorded a 2-0 win after second-half goals from Josh Koroma and Joe Hungbo.
Sarr, whose previous clubs include Sporting Lisbon, Red Star and Charlton Athletic, is the first contracted player to depart the Royals since they lost their survival fight.
