Andy Carroll confirmed his move to Ligue 2 side Amiens on deadline day.
French Ligue 2 side Amiens are extremely delighted to announce the completion of signing former England striker Andy Carroll on deadline day of this year's summer transfer.
The former Liverpool player and England international Andy Carroll has joined the Amiens following his departure from third-tier club Reading.
Andy Carroll has spent the 2022-23 season with Reading, but was unable to help them beat the drop as they suffered relegation to League One.
He was handed a start in their last two league matches, but will reportedly leave the Madejski Stadium in search of a new challenge abroad.
The former Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham striker re-joined Reading last September after a successful first spell between November 2021 and January 2022.
Carroll has clocked up 42 appearances for Reading across his two spells with the club, scoring 11 goals.
After starting the Royals’ first two league games of the season, Carroll has not been involved in the club’s last three fixtures, prompting a change of plans for both player and club.
Carroll’s most successful spell came during a six-year stint at West Ham where he scored 26 goals in 102 games.
