Crystal Palace has officially confirmed a deal with Flamengo to sign Brazil Under-20 international midfielder Matheus Franca for a reported fee of £26m.

The Blues also showed interest in the Brazilian, which was first reported in early July. But Crystal Palace won the race in signing the wonder kid, Matheus Franca.

Palace will pay a fixed fee of £17m for the Flamengo star, with a further £9m included in add-ons.

The central midfielder will reportedly undergo his medical today.

Matheus Franca joined Flamengo as a 12-year-old and scored 11 goals for the first team.

On the other hand, Palace has signed Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth for free after the departures of Luka Milivojevic and James McArthur and remains hopeful of making further additions.
