Roberto Firmino departs Liverpool to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli ahead of the new season.
The most decorated Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli is delighted to announce the completion of signing Brazil forward Roberto Firmino on a free transfer after he departs from his current club, Liverpool.
With the completion of the transfer process, Brazil's star player Roberto Firmino became the latest high-profile player to complete a move to Saudi Arabia.
The 31-year-old, Roberto Firmino left Liverpool upon the expiration of his contract, having spent the past eight seasons on Merseyside.
Firmino has signed a three-year contract and will team up with goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who also left the Premier League after three seasons with Chelsea.
Firmino joined Liverpool in 2015 and helped the team win the Champions League, FA Cup, and Premier League titles.
The 31-year-old left Liverpool after eight seasons at Anfield, during which time he scored 111 goals in 362 appearances.
Firmino joins a long list of high-profile players who have moved to the Saudi Pro league in recent weeks, with the likes of Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Neves following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who moved to Al Nassr in January.
