The Saudi Arabia based club, Al Hilal is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The fee for the transfer is believed to be 55m euro (£47m).

Wolves captain Ruben Neves has only one year left on his contract with the Premier League club. With his contract is set to expire in June 2024.

So Wolves decided to sell the 26-year-old, rather than renew his contract.

Neves came to Wolves from Porto in 2017 on a rumored £15.8 million deal. At that time, Wolves were playing in England’s second-division league, The Championship. From the first year of his joining, he became an important part of the team.

Barcelona had held a long-term interest in the Portugal international, Ruben Neves but has not been able to get a deal over the line.

Karim Benzema completed a free transfer to Al Ittihad this month and Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is linked with joining him, while Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr in December.

Since joining the Wolves, he helped them win the Championship a year later and then to two consecutive seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League.

Neves has made 253 appearances for Wolves in all competitions, scoring 30 goals.
