Weimann and Ohashi Shine on Debut in Blackburn’s Dominant Win Over Derby County.

Sammie Szmodics made an impact off the bench, finding the net, while debutants Andreas Weimann and Yuki Ohashi added to the excitement with goals of their own, leading Blackburn Rovers to a resounding victory over Derby County.

The newcomers wasted no time in making their mark, turning the match into a showcase of Blackburn’s attacking prowess.

Tyrhys Dolan opened the scoring for Blackburn in a dominant first half, but Derby, newly promoted and playing their first Championship match, leveled the game with Curtis Nelson's 67th-minute header.

Blackburn quickly regained control, securing John Eustace’s first home win as boss with two rapid goals.

Weimann, facing his former club, scored with his second touch after coming on as a substitute, while Szmodics, last season's top scorer, continued his fine form. Japanese forward Ohashi added a fourth before Kane Wilson scored a late consolation for Derby.

The first goal came after Lewis Travers’ driving run set up Makhtar Gueye, whose pass led to Dolan smashing the ball home from close range. Gueye, a recent signing from Belgian club RWD Molenbeek, had an early chance but missed after receiving a clever pass from Travers.
