Red Sox's Duran Suspended for Offensive Homophobic Remark.

Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran has been suspended for two games after using a homophobic slur towards a fan during Sunday’s match.

During the Red Sox’s 10-2 loss to the Houston Astros, Jarren Duran directed a homophobic slur at a heckling fan, a comment that was caught on air by New England Sports Network.

As a result, the 27-year-old outfielder has been suspended for two games, with his pay for those matches being donated to Greater PFLAG Boston, an organization supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Duran, who will undergo sensitivity training, expressed remorse for his actions, saying, "I've had fans reach out, disappointed in me, and I’m sorry for my actions. I’ll work on being better for them. There was no intent behind the word; it was said in the heat of the moment. It's on me, but I meant no harm."
