Rain Dampens Spirits on Day One of Paris Olympics.

The much-anticipated opening day of the 2024 Paris Olympics turned into a dramatic spectacle as rain showers swept through the city, causing delays and postponements of several events.

Athletes and spectators alike braved the wet weather, showcasing their resilience and dedication despite the challenging conditions.

The unexpected downpour added an element of unpredictability, reminding everyone that even the best-laid plans can be altered by nature's whims.

As the games progress, the spirit of competition and camaraderie is sure to shine through the stormy start.

Heavy rain soaked Paris during Friday's opening ceremony and continued into Saturday, causing disruptions across multiple Olympic events.

The men's skateboard street event at Place de la Concorde, originally set for day one, has been rescheduled for Monday due to the downpour.

The preliminary round and final were both affected, with the women's event still slated for Sunday.

At Roland Garros, play on the outside courts is delayed until 17:15 local time (16:15 BST), with several matches already cancelled.

Team GB's Cameron Norrie, Jack Draper, Dan Evans, and Katie Boulter were among those impacted.
