Postecoglou Unfazed by England Job Speculations: 'No Idea,' He Says.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou dismissed reports linking him to the England job, saying he has "no idea" about them.

Ange Postecoglou, 58, emphasized that his focus remains on managing Tottenham Hotspur after Gareth Southgate's resignation on Tuesday.

Southgate, who had been England's manager since 2016, resigned just 48 hours after Spain defeated England in the Euro 2024 final.

"I've got no idea, I've been preparing for a game," Postecoglou told BBC Scotland following Tottenham's 5-1 pre-season win over Hearts. "I'm the Tottenham manager. That's where I stand."

Postecoglou, a former Celtic boss, took charge of Tottenham last season, leading them to a fifth-place finish in the Premier League. Although they missed out on Champions League qualification, his attacking style received praise.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is the top candidate for the England job, but Newcastle's chief executive Darren Eales has stated they will resist any approaches from the Football Association.
