Garcia Snaps Title Drought at LIV Golf Andalucia Championship.

Local hero Sergio Garcia ended his four-year wait for a professional victory with a thrilling playoff triumph over India's Anirban Lahiri at the LIV Golf Andalucia Championship.

Sergio Garcia shot a final-round 66 at Real Club Valderrama to erase a seven-stroke deficit and tie with Anirban Lahiri at five under.

In a sudden-death playoff, Garcia secured victory with a short par putt on the second hole, earning him his first LIV Golf title and a £3.15m prize.

"It's definitely one of the highlights of my career," Garcia said. He also celebrated a big day for Spanish sports, noting Carlos Alcaraz's Wimbledon win earlier. "Hopefully Spain wins tonight," he added, referring to the Euro 2024 football final against England.

Spain's victory later in the day added to Garcia's joy, capping off a remarkable day for the country. His previous win had been at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship.
