Elisa Longo Borghini Triumphs in Women's Giro d'Italia.

Elisa Longo Borghini clinched victory in the Women's Giro d'Italia, becoming the first Italian winner since 2008 after a thrilling final stage.

Elisa Longo Borghini, riding for Lidl-Trek, secured the Maglia Rosa after starting the day with a one-second lead over Lotte Kopecky of SD Worx-Protime. Longo Borghini managed to maintain her lead, winning the overall title by 21 seconds.

Kim Le Court from Mauritius won the 117km stage from Pescara to L'Aquila, edging out Ruth Edwards and Franziska Koch in a sprint finish. Longo Borghini, who had held the Maglia Rosa since the first stage, finished fourth in the stage.

Neve Bradbury of Australia, racing for Canyon//SRAM, took third place overall, 55 seconds behind Kopecky.

Longo Borghini expressed her gratitude to her teammates, saying, "Everyone was super motivated to keep the Maglia Rosa. I need some time to realize what I've done."

Lotte Kopecky, the world road race champion, won the sprinter's Maglia Rossa, while Justine Ghekiere of AG Insurance-Soudal claimed the climber's Maglia Azzurra.
