Catcher Makes History by Playing for Both Teams in a Single Game.

Danny Jansen made history by becoming the first catcher to play for both teams in the same Major League Baseball game.

Yes, you read that correctly...

On June 26, Danny Jansen was playing for the Toronto Blue Jays when their game against the Boston Red Sox was postponed due to rain. The next day, he was traded to the Red Sox and appeared for them when the game resumed.

"I'm just going to put my head down and play," Jansen said before the game restarted. "It's definitely a cool thing."

While MLB has seen new signings join suspended games before, this was a unique situation where a player faced his old team.

Remarkably, Jansen was batting for the Blue Jays when the game was stopped. When play resumed, the Blue Jays replaced him with pinch-hitter Daulton Varsho, and Jansen, now in a Red Sox uniform, took the field as the catcher for Boston at Fenway Park.
