Boxing Paris Olympics 2024

Boxers Lin and Khelif Secure Olympic Spots.

Two athletes, previously disqualified from last year's World Championships for not meeting eligibility criteria, have now been cleared to compete in women's boxing at the Paris Olympics.

Taiwan's Lin Yu-ting and Algeria's Imane Khelif have been cleared to compete in women's boxing at the Paris Olympics.

Lin, 28, lost her bronze medal from the March 2023 event after failing a gender eligibility test, while Khelif, 25, was disqualified in New Delhi due to a testosterone level test.

The International Boxing Association, which organized the event, is no longer recognized by the IOC. The specifics of the gender tests remain unclear.

The IOC stated, "All athletes participating in the boxing tournament of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 comply with the competition's eligibility and entry regulations, as well as all applicable medical regulations in accordance with rules 1.4 and 3.1 of the Paris 2024 Boxing Unit."
