Alcaraz Advances to Quarterfinals with 'High-Level' Performance Against Humbert.

Carlos Alcaraz took a significant stride towards defending his Wimbledon title, securing a hard-fought victory over Ugo Humbert in an intense match.

The 21-year-old Spaniard, Carlos Alcaraz, battled past 16th seed Ugo Humbert to win 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 and advance to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

This victory extended Alcaraz's Grand Slam winning streak to 11 matches following his recent French Open triumph.

"I feel great about my game today; I think I played at a really high level," Alcaraz commented after the match.

Carlos Alcaraz's next opponent at Wimbledon will be American 12th seed Tommy Paul, the recent Queen's Club champion, who defeated Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.

Meanwhile, world number one Jannik Sinner secured a straight-set victory over American 14th seed Ben Shelton, winning 6-2, 6-4, 7-6 (11-9). Shelton, who had won his first three rounds in five sets each, had four set points in the third-set tie-break.

Sinner, 22, is set to face Daniil Medvedev in the next round after the Russian fifth seed advanced due to Grigor Dimitrov's early retirement with a leg injury.

Dimitrov, the Bulgarian 10th seed, took a medical timeout but chose not to continue at 5-3 down in the first set.
