Two French Athletes Arrested Amid Sexual Assault Allegations.

Two French international rugby players have been arrested in Argentina amid shocking allegations of sexual assault.

The incident has sent ripples through the sports community, sparking intense media coverage and a flurry of reactions from fans and officials alike.

Oscar Jegou, 21, and Hugo Auradou, 20, were detained in Buenos Aires on Monday and will be transported to Mendoza, where the crime allegedly took place against a woman.

The French team is touring South America, having stayed in Mendoza after their 28-13 Test win against Argentina, where both players made their international debuts.

“If the facts are proven, they are incredibly serious,” said French Rugby Federation president Florian Grill. “We will await the investigation results.”

Martin Ahumada, spokesperson for the Mendoza prosecutor's office, stated that a commission is traveling to Buenos Aires to conduct "investigative actions." If evidence supports the victim's testimony, charges will be filed.

French sports minister Amelie Oudea-Castera called the allegations "an unspeakable atrocity" if proven and confirmed she is in contact with the federation and the French embassy in Argentina.
